The following is our environmental policy:

Basic Policy
CHUO MALLEABLE IRON CO., LTD. understands that as a manufacturer of metal materials our business activities have an effect on the regional and global environment. We carry out environmental conservation activities on a continual basis to fulfil our company's social responsibilities. We have earned the trust of local companies and are contributing to the creation of an opulent society.

Code of Conduct
  1. We will operate under a system that facilitates activities to conserve the regional and global environment. This system will establish environmental goals and targets, and we will set forth plans that are both economical and environmentally friendly to enable ongoing conservation activities.
  2. We will observe all local and national laws and regulations and will strive to prevent pollution before it occurs.
  3. In addition to conserving energy and resources to protect the global environment, we will work to form a sustainable recycling society by promoting such activities as green purchasing and reducing waste and environmental pollutants.
  4. We will continually communicate with the local community and perform agressive activities to improve the global environment in order to establish a rapport and form partnerships.
  5. We will educate each employee on the company's environmental policy and make them aware of their own duties in our environmental activities.

ISO14001 Certified (JQA-EM1567)
The Nissin and Kumamoto plants have received ISO14001 certification for "manufacturing and processing of cast iron and light alloy castings." These plants observe environmental laws and regulations, conserve energy and resources, promote reduction of waste and environmental pollutants, and perform ongoing activities to conserve the regional and global environment.

Our environmental logo mark: Eco fan

We selected this logo from about 200 entries received from employees. It stands for our environmental motto, which is, "A company whose every employee is a fan of the environment."
